Here at Lightricks, an award-winning apps startup, we are in the process of scaling up our backend systems in order to meet the growth in our user base. We’re looking for an experienced DevOps / SRE engineer with hands-on experience in setting up, maintaining and supporting complex cloud-based systems and infrastructures. We are looking for someone with the ability to quickly learn and adapt according to dynamic business needs, while maintaining a stable and reliable system working environment. We’re looking for someone who is just as passionate as we are about the craft of software engineering. Someone who believes that code should be elegant, but can still appreciate the realities of business and can deliver on a tight schedule in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, security provisioning, and launch reviews.
  • Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with modern technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda and many more.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other development teams with operations related tasks.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
  • Improve systems reliability through mechanisms like testing, automation and monitoring.
  • Continuously evolve and learn new technologies, apply industry best practices and share knowledge with other teams through guidance, lectures and workshops.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • Proven experience building and maintaining scalable and highly available systems.
  • Deep understanding of networking and network-security concepts.
  • Experience working with various DB engines and good understanding of when and how to utilize each.
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript.
  • Experience working in Linux environment and writing shell scripts.
  • Interest in designing, building and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Experience with CI/CD solutions (Jenkins, Circle CI, Travis CI etc.).
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and concepts.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in building and managing microservice systems in a serverless or container based environments.
