Head of Talent

Job description

Lightricks is a pioneer in innovative technology that leads to breakthrough moments throughout the creation process. Lightricks’ content creation tools are uniquely magical as they build invisible technology under the hood, breaking a silo between research and design that enables anyone to enjoy creating amazing visuals quickly and easily. The suite of apps has over 500 million downloads worldwide and has won numerous prestigious awards — including Apple's App of the Year, the Apple Design Award and both Apple and Google Play’s Best of the Year.

As a platform in the center of the creator ecosystem, relationships with talent of all kinds are critical to our success. This is an exciting role to lead our talent practice, which has a hand in almost everything we do as the Content & Creators team.

To us, talent can be anyone, from aspiring creators to the largest A-list influencers and celebrities. We need an experienced leader who can see the forest as well as the trees… both the minutiae of talent vetting, casting, negotiating and management, and the overarching trends evolving across the industry.

The most fitting candidate will bring to the table an existing network of contacts and the battle scars of negotiations with talent, agents, networks and more. You are service-oriented, providing insights, relationships and tactics to "clients" across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Own critical talent relationships across everything we're doing, you're the holder of the master list and act as air traffic control for how talent is integrated across the board.
  • Lead a team of talent managers that will be focused on supporting various specific efforts (performance, editorial, campaigns, etc.)
  • Lead efforts to keep us always on the cutting edge of talent partnerships, including deal structure, best practices, terms, equity grants, etc.
  • Provide thought leadership on trends in talent partnerships and the creator ecosystem overall.
  • Develop a large network of relationships that feed us updates, opportunities and more so that we don't start from scratch as needs arise.
  • Pursue larger-scale initiatives such as owning a sophisticated gifting strategy, influencer advisory boards and similar cross-company, long-term initiatives.
  • Elevate activities across the team and the company that relate to talent and creator ecosystem efforts.

Requirements

  • 5 years of direct talent-centric work, across a mix of influencers, creators, celebrities of various kinds - either on the "side" of the talent or at an agency, media company, etc.
  • Existing bank of relationships that we can use to hit the ground running on your first day - you have at least a dozen text message threads on your phone with talent directly from the last 12 months.
  • Deep experience with talent agreements, negotiating with agents, etc.
  • Passionate about social media, the Creator Ecosystem and storytelling, with a strong foundation of analytics, reporting, data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience managing a team, bonus points for experience with international teams (balancing schedules and calls across time zones).
  • Talented at mentorship, with solid leadership skills.
  • Excellent multitasking, project-management and time-balancing skills.
  • Team player, service-oriented… your primary role is empowering others, not necessarily "owning" projects yourself.
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills - you're the kind of person people like getting a drink with.
  • Available to travel at least 40% of the time within the US and to Israel.

Benefits

  • Heavily discounted 4-year stock option grant.
  • Private medical insurance for you & your loved ones.
  • Contributions towards health & fitness membership.
  • 7% matched pension contributions.
  • Weekly & monthly team building activities - Games Nights, Private Chef, Happy Hour, Pottery Workshops, Cocktail making & more.
  • Breakfast, dinner, snacks, refreshments & coffee!
  • Travel to our global sites.
  • Hybrid working & a super cool office space located in Central London.
