Every month, over 425 million images and videos are created and shared by individuals, influencers, and brands using a Lightricks-powered app. Behind our successful apps is a collection of backend systems that support and provide them with essential services. The PX team designs and develops the systems that enable in-app purchases and subscription management for our apps. As such the systems that the team develops are sensitive and critical to the day-to-day operation of the business. In order to give our users the ultimate experience the solutions that the team develops should work smoothly and optimally, even on the busiest days like Christmas and Black Friday.We are looking for a talented engineer, with experience in designing and developing reliable and scalable backend systems. Developers who are interested in joining a team with an important responsibility and an absolute direct and broad impact on all the products that the company develops. Engineers who care about architecture and appreciate simple and effective solutions, with simple and easy to use software interfaces. Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and maintaining Lightricks’ backend services.
  • Identifying issues and bottlenecks with existing services and working to improve them.
  • Writing clean, maintainable and testable code, and inspiring others to do the same.
  • Identifying and implementing software engineering best practices.
  • Conducting code reviews.
  • Constantly improving our development process by introducing new dev tools, developing common infrastructures, automating processes etc.
  • Full ownership of stack including infrastructure and production-readiness of key systems.
  • Sharing new and innovative ideas and technologies with the team and company in an effort to constantly better ourselves as engineers and problem solvers.
  • Together with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, preferably in Python
  • Proven experience of delivering large, successful backend projects
  • High familiarity with Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud infrastructure
  • 3+ years of hands on experience with building, deploying and maintaining scalable systems on cloud environment
  • Good understanding of critical production systems concepts - high availability, reliability and scalability
  • Understanding of network protocols such as TCP, IP, HTTP
  • Deep knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)

    Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience building big-data solutions that include data pipelining and processing infrastructures - a plus
  • Experience in fintech sector or credit card processing - a plus
  • Experience in frontend web development (ReactJS) - a plus
  • Experience with Serverless infrastructure (AWS Lambda) - a plus
