About Lightricks Design Internship Program

Lightricks Design Internship Program runs from mid-July to mid-October, and is offered to students who are currently in their third year of design studies. Our design internship is a full-time program, designed to place students at the heart of the action here at Lightricks, working on different projects, from content and creative marketing through to product design, all within a fun, friendly and artistic working environment.

At Lightricks, we view the members of these programs as fully capable designers in their own right, provide opportunities to collaborate on plenty of engaging projects and bring their passion and creativity to life.

As part of our Design Internship Program, you will be able to benefit from lectures and workshops that have been tailor made to enrich and enhance your skills. Many of our interns continue to work as students at Lightricks and have gone on to develop their careers with us, accepting roles as full time designers – so there’s plenty of opportunity for growth.

We offer four types of internships here at Lightricks:

Frequently Asked
Questions

How do I apply for an internship?

Applications can be submitted via our careers page. The application process opens from mid-January, and we will be in touch regarding the next steps throughout February and March.

Do I need a portfolio?

Yes, we would like to see a portfolio to help us assess your suitability for the program. This can take the form of a website or PDF. We understand that you are halfway through your studies and will take this into consideration when reviewing your work.

Is this a paid internship?

As an intern, you’ll be paid a monthly rate during the initial three-month program. If, at the end of the program, you remain with Lightricks as a fourth-year student, you will continue to be paid on an hourly basis.

How many applicants do you accept to your program?

We have the capacity to hire ten interns this year. We’ll be looking for five interns within Product and five within Creative Marketing.

Can I apply to internships in both Product and Creative Marketing?

Yes, you may apply to be considered for more than one internship, but please be aware of the fact that you’ll only be able to undertake one internship program with Lightricks. This means that if both of your applications are successful, you will need to choose your preferred internship. Please note you will need to submit home assignments for each internship individually.

What training do you provide in the internship?

The internship starts with a three-week bootcamp. This provides you with the opportunity to learn more about Lightricks and refine any specific skills needed for the position. This might include anything from more experience with design tools (such as After Effect, Figma, etc.), through to specific tasks relating to positions in marketing or product design. You will have a mentor assigned to you for the full three-month period, who will be able to teach you about Lightricks, and support you in your ongoing work.
